Meet the people guiding your financial future:

Craig Schembri

For nearly 30 years, Craig has guided clients through almost every market condition to help them reach their financial goals. His philosophy is simple: portfolios are built on trust, not hype.

As a fiduciary, Craig is committed to acting solely in his clients’ best interests at all times.

Before entering the financial services industry, Craig spent seven years as a sales executive at Nike. He later founded Schembri Danko and Associates to provide truly objective financial guidance, free from quotas and hidden agendas.

Most recently, Craig partnered with Jay Lizanich of Summit Wealth Advisors to form True North Capital—a firm built around personalized advice, transparency, and long-term client relationships.

Craig is a proud graduate of Michigan State University, where he was a member of the men’s tennis team.

Jay Lizanich

With more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Jay has spent his career helping individuals and families build confidence in their financial futures.

For the last eight years, he has operated his own firm, Summit Wealth Advisors, serving clients throughout the Southeast from his home base in Greenville, South Carolina. In 2024, Jay and his family relocated to Michigan as Summit Wealth Advisors joined forces with Schembri Danko and Associates to form True North Capital—a partnership built to expand resources, deepen service offerings, and strengthen the long-term value provided to clients.

Jay holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation (AIF® designation), reflecting his commitment to responsible, client-first investment management. Before entering the financial field, Jay spent four years playing college baseball for Presbyterian College, an experience that shaped his discipline, competitiveness, and team-oriented approach to advising.

Outside the office, life is full and active thanks to Jay's amazing wife, Ashtin—who played volleyball at Presbyterian College—their two children, Cora and Kyler, and their dog, Dude. Whether coaching youth sports, spending time outdoors, or enjoying family activities, Jay remains driven by the same purpose that guides his work: helping people grow, stay grounded, and reach their own financial summit.

Shane Knechtges

Shane believes the best financial guidance begins with truly understanding what matters most to each client. He takes a personal approach, helping clients align their financial decisions with long-term goals.

Prior to True North Capital, Shane gained experience in the finance department at Lineage Logistics, where he built a strong foundation in financial analysis. He also earned his real estate license with Maxim Properties, giving him a well-rounded perspective across both investment and property markets.

Shane graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance. He understands that his clients work hard for their money and believes their financial plans should be built with the same intention. By taking the time to learn each client’s story, Shane provides clear, thoughtful guidance designed to build confidence and support long-term success.

Outside of work, Shane enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and getting out on the golf course.
